Tweed mending
Tweed mending works with the weave and pattern of the original cloth. The aim is a discreet repair; the result depends on the damage and the material available.

The care of familiar things
A fine knit, a leather handbag or a piece of jewellery each asks for a different kind of care. We look at the material, construction and condition before recommending the work. If your repair is not listed, tell us about it.
A bag you carry often deserves care that respects its shape and details. We assess worn stitching, edges, zips, linings and colour, then recommend cleaning or repairs suited to its material and condition.
Favourite shoes can often stay with you longer with the right attention. Sole and heel work, cleaning, colour touch-ups and protective treatments are assessed according to the construction, material and finish of each pair.
A small hole or surface pilling need not mean the end of a favourite knit. We assess visible or discreet darning, pilling removal and shape adjustments, with attention to the yarn, tension and character of the piece.
Jewellery often carries a story as well as a design. Chain repairs, polishing, stone resetting, replating and small alterations are assessed with care for the metal, setting and original form.
Painted details give a piece its own character. We assess the restoration of motifs on clothing, leather and decorative objects, or discuss new painted work that belongs with the original design.
A missing bead or loosened embellishment can change the feel of a piece. We look at replacing, repairing or recreating those details, with attention to colour, balance and how securely they are held.
A coat or jacket you know well may need a seam repaired, a zip replaced or a lining renewed. We assess the work with its drape and construction in mind, choosing threads and finishes that suit the garment.
The process
Share photographs and a few details through our repair request form. Tell us what you would like to keep, improve or restore.
We assess the piece with the appropriate specialist and explain the proposed work and estimate to you.
After inspection, we confirm the final quote with you. No work begins without your approval.
